For the second consecutive year Brice Leverdez will face Lee Chong Wei, Malaysia, at the World Championships, and the French is ready to repeat the Glasgow victory.

The Head-to-Head between Brice Leverdez and Lee Chong Wei gives the Malaysian the upper hand. Chong Wei has won eight of the ten meeting between the two players, but in August 2017 Brice Leverdez claimed one of his biggest career victories.

At Emirates Arena in Glasgow the current World number 19 won 21-19 22-24 21-17 against Lee Chong Wei.

- This year is different
At the TOTAL BWF World Championships 2018 the two players will meet again, and Leverdez knows that it will be tough to repeat the victory from Glasgow.

- I’ll bring my A game again, but this year is different for Chong Wei and for me. He looked very fit in the last few tournaments, so I know if I want to win I need to be at my best, Brice Leverdez says.

- And he will remember last year so it’s going to be exciting to be on court against him again.

Fine draw for Stoeva’s
The European women’s doubles Champions, Gabriela and Stefani Stoeva, are also ready for the World Championships. The Bulgarians are seeded nine and have a bye in the first round. In the second round they will face either Lise Jaques/Flore Vandenhoucke from Belgium or Germans Lisa Kaminski/Hanna Pohl.

- The draw for the World Championship is fine. It is always a tough event because the whole World is playing. But I think we are well prepared and we will do our best, Stefani Stoeva says.

The World Championships 2018 will take place from June 30 to August 5 and you can of course follow the event at www.badmintoneurope.com and our social media platforms.
