New Vice-President elected

39 countries were represented at the 2013 Annual Delegates’ Meeting held in Bratislava, Slovakia on 20 April 2013. Two distinguished Council members retired whilst a new person was elected to be on the governing board of the Confederation.

Special guests, who were invited to attend the meeting, included former BEC and BWF President Stellan Mohlin from Sweden and former Council member Frank Wilson from England. Gisela Hoffman the long-serving former General Secretary from Germany, former Council member Irene Delvai from Switzerland and former Vice-President Jadwiga Slawska-Szalwicz from Poland were also invited as guests of honour.
 
The Annual Delegates' Meeting brings together Badminton Europe’s Member Associations to discuss relevant subjects affecting badminton within the continent.

The ADM took place at the Sheraton Hotel conference room in Bratislava. President Poul-Erik Høyer (Denmark) and Director for Sport, Peter Tarcala (Slovakia) were re-elected for their positions for the period 2013 to 2016.

Gregory Verpoorten (Belgium) was elected as new BWF Vice-President for Europe for the period 2013 to 2015. Verpoorten took over the position from Mr. Torsten Berg (Denmark) as he stepped down and didn't stand for re-election. BEC President Poul-Erik Høyer thanked Torsten Berg for serving Badminton Europe in many positions over the last 30 years. Badminton Europe would once again like to thank Mr. Berg for his dedicated work to the confederation and wishes him a very peaceful and relaxing retirement.

Andrey Antropov new Vice-President

Andrey Antropov (Russia) took over the Vice-President position from Hans Lenkert (Sweden), who served in that position for six years. BEC President Poul-Erik Høyer thanked Hans Lenkert for his dedicated work and contribution to the confederation.

The meeting approved changes to the Confederation’s rules and regulations and accepted the budget for 2013 and financial forecasts for 2014 and 2015.

The Council of Badminton Europe is now composed of the following ten people:

Vice-President: Alberto Miglietta (Italy)
Vice-President: Andrey Antropov (Russia)

Director for Administration: Lawrence Chew (Switzerland)
Director for Communication: Corina Dan (Romania)
Director for Development: Gregory Verpoorten (Belgium)
Director for Finance: Ritchie Campbell (Scotland)
Director for Marketing: Kevin Scott (England)
Director for Sport: Peter Tarcala (Slovakia)
