At yesterday's 2013 Annual Delegates' Meeting in Bratislava, Slovakia, two important European Championships in 2014 have been allocated. The 2014 European Men’s & Women’s Team Championships and the 2014 European U15 Championships will be held in Basel, Switzerland from 11-16 February 2014. The 2014 European U15 Championships will be played from 14-16 February in the St. Jakobshalle in Basel. It is the same venue that the traditional Badminton Swiss Open is using since 1991.

The 2014 European U15 Championships will be staged for the first time ever in the history of European badminton. Badminton Europe believes that staging this event alongside the 2014 European Men's and Women's Team Championships would give the younger generation a glimpse of the best European players of today and a great atomsphere.

2014 European Championships to be held in Kazan, Russia

2014 European Championships were allocated to Kazan, Russia. BEC's events' flagship will be played from 23-27 April 2014 in one of Russia's biggest cities.

The two events contracts have been signed by BEC President Poul-Erik Høyer and Lawrence Chew (CEO Swiss Badminton) [pictured] and Andrey Antropov (Chairman of the Council of National Badminton Federation of Russia) respectively.
