Corrales wins in Timisoara

The Nippon player Takuto Inoue was the man of the 8th consecutive edition of the Romanian Internationals held in Timisoara by winning the men’s doubles final together with his compatriote Yuki Kaneko, as well as the men’ singles final. Inoue won two of the five finals at the 2013 Li-Ning Romanian International.

If the men’s doubles final, the first match of the day, was finished in just 18 minutes when Sebastien and Quentin Vicent lost 21-10, 21-10, being tired after winning their semifinal against players from New Zealand an evening before.

The men’s singles final, the last one on Sunday, was a real badminton marathon of 58 minutes. In the end, Takuto Inoue defeated the French player Lucas Corvee. The Japanese recovered after losing the first game, 10-21, 21-17, 21-15 to take the title. Inoue as well as Kaneko had a very precise game, remarkable technical and tactical skills, playing with abnegation and showing spectacular shots.

The local crowd saw an Asian victory in the mixed doubles finals – where the Koreans Sol Kyu Choi and Hye Rin Kim defeated the Turkish players Ramazan Ozturk and Neslihan Kilic in 27 minutes 21-16 21-13.

Spaniard Beatriz Corrales took title

The top seeds in the women's singles and women's doubles proved to be the strongest players in the competition. Beatriz Corrales, the young Spanish girl, lost the first game, but she became champion in 55 minutes by beating the Korean Na Young Kim in three games 15-21, 21-6, 21-15, offering the second most disputed final of the day.

The Russians Irina Khlebko and Ksenia Polikarpova managed to get over the Ukrainian duo of Natalya Voytsekh and Yelyzaveta Zharka in 34 minutes and two close games 21-18, 23-21 to take the women's doubles crown.

As a conclusion: 3 triumphs for the Asians and 2 for the Europeans. The Banu-Sport Hall in Timisoara hosted 81 matches on the Thursday, 85 on the Friday, 30 more on Saturday and 5 finals on the Sunday.
