FORZA FZ Slovenia International ended this weekend in Medvode. While some finals brought a lot of excitement, Toby Penty from England seemed to have the title in men’s singles under control.
Penty claimed the men’s singles title in Medvode without any set loss.Pablo Abian (Spain) fell short to Penty in the final.
- I knew it would be a tough final against Pablo, Penty told Badminton Europe after his match.
- But I thought I played really good patches after the intervals of each set, which made a big difference.

Back on track
Penty had been away of the tournament circuit for a couple of months. The Dutch International was the first tournament he played in 2018.
- I spent a lot of time out at the start of this year so I'm happy with the last few weeks with my performance both at the Europeans and in Slovenia.
- Hopefully this is the platform for even better things for the rest of the year.
