Tough draw for host nation

The draw for the 2013 European Junior Team Championships in Ankara, Turkey was today made at Badminton Europe’s office in Copenhagen. The top seeded team from Denmark was drawn in a pool with Bulgaria, Wales and Hungary.

Second seed Russia will be challenged by Norway, Austria and Estonia in group 2. To secure the top spot in group 3, England, European Champion in 2007, have to beat Croatia, Iceland and Sweden.

Last edition’s Gold medallist Germany was drawn in a pool (4) with the teams from Romania, Slovenia and Finland. France was conducted into a group (5) together with Lithuania, Switzerland and Poland. Host nation Turkey will be challenged by Belgium, Scotland, Cyprus and Armenia.

The Netherlands, finalists in 2007 and 2009, will face the teams from Czech Republic, Slovakia, Israel and Latvia in group 7.

The 2013 European Junior Team Championships will kick-off on 22 March 2013.
