Denmark’s Line Kjærsfeldt beat Scotland’s second seed Kirsty Gilmour; 21-14, 21-16. The determination and confidence she showed on court was replaced by joy the second the last shuttle hit the ground.

The 5th seeded Dane was all smiles all the way out to the mixed zone, this evening, after she secured herself a spot in the semifinals at the 2018 European Championships.

- I felt confident and relaxed. I just believed that I could win, and I am so happy that I did.

- She was the favorite to win and maybe she also wanted that too much. I just kept going and had good movement and I think that was the difference today, Kjærsfeldt told Badminton Europe.

On Saturday, the opponent on the other side of the net will be from Russia. Evgeniya Kosetskaya is seeded 4th and will play against the Dane as match no. 2 on court no. 2.

The semifinals of the 2018 European Championships will be played on two courts and will begin from 2 PM and 2:10 PM CEST.
