Last time we played I underestimated him - Jan O Jorgensen

In the space of three weeks Jan O Jorgensen and Mark Caljouw have played each other twice. Three weeks ago it was the Dutch number one who came out on top at the Orleans Masters. Caljouw went on to win the tournament on that occasion. Today at the European Championships Jorgensen overturned that defeat to beat Caljouw in two tight games 21-19 21-18.

-The last time I played Mark I was guilty of underestimating him. Today I came into the match very prepared and knew more what to expect from him.

The former European Champion did not have it all his own way as Jorgensen was forced to come back from 19-17 down in the first to win the opener and nine points in a row in the second sealed the win for the former world number 2 after trailing 18-12 to the Dutchman

-When we last played he kind of did the same to me and I am still hurting from that a bit if I am honest. Today I turned it around but he is a good player and his time will come for sure.

Looking ahead Jorgensen was clear to point out that there is only one big favourite for this title and after that there are a bunch of guys with a chance of medals.

-Viktor (Axelsen) is clear favourite. He has been playing very well in training even though he is returning from injury. We cannot look beyond Viktor for the win. After that there is a bunch of us just taking one game at a time hoping we can get to the final.
