It was a pretty decent mornings work for Germany’s mixed doubles pairings with three pairs advancing to round two at the Orleans Masters. However, it proved a frustrating day for the defending champions and recent Swiss Open Super 300 winners as Isabel Herttrich and Mark Lamsfuss (pictured below) went down at the first hurdle to Indonesians Andika Ramadiansyah and Mychelle Crhystine Bandaso.

-I struggled to find my feeling today and they played clever getting good angles and adapting quicker to the slow shuttles.

Herttrich while disappointed took the defeat on the chin and now looks forward to the European Championships at the end of April.

-Loosing is never nice but now we have an opportunity to train hard for three weeks and prepare for the European Championships coming up at the end of April.

On the flip side Marvin Seidel and Linda Efler beat Riyanto and Sugiarto in two games and Peter Kaesbauer and Olga Konon followed quickly with a win over Swedish Open champions Knudsen and Nielsen of Denmark.

-It has taken myself and Olga some time to get used to each other but we have worked hard and the results are now starting to show that.

-We knew towards the end of the match that the Danes were getting a little uncomfortable and we managed to win that psychological battle and take the match.

Josche Zurwonne and Eva Janssens rounded off a good mornings work for team Germany beating Fogarty and Zhong of USA and set up a second round all German mixed doubles match against Efler and Seidel.
