Brice Leverdez: I am happy to be close to top 20

France’s Brice Leverdez is occupying position no. 23 on the men’s singles world ranking list for the last two weeks. 

-I am just happy to be close to top 20 which is something I never achieved, he tells Badminton Europe.

He is currently focusing on All England Open 2018 and the European Championships 2018.

-Both tournaments are really important for me and I want to perform in both of them, Leverdez states.

Men’s singles advance

France’s Lucas Corvee advanced nine spots, currently occupying position no. 51 on the men’s singles world ranking list. His compatriot Thomas Rouxel is no. 68 as he moved five spots up.

Austrian Open 2018 semifinalist Raul Must (Estonia) climbed two spots up to occupy position no. 64.

Denmark’s Jan O Jorgensen is successfully making a comeback after an injury. This week he climbed 38 spots and currently occupies position no. 74. 

Rankings after the Austrian Open 

Austrian Open 2018 winner in women’s singles Anna Thea Madsen (Denmark) climbed 71 spots this week. She has made good results after recovering from an injury. The Dane won the Irish Open 2017, then became a semifinalist in the Italian International 2017, a quarterfinalist in the Swedish Open 2018 and the winner of the Austrian Open 2018. This week she is no. 139 on the women’s singles world ranking list. 

Winners in mixed doubles Evgenij Dremin/ Evgenia Dimova (Russia) occupy position no. 37 on the mixed doubles ranking list after moving three spots compared to last week. 

Semifinalists in men’s doubles Alexander Dunn/Adam Hall (Scotland) can celebrate their career-best result as they occupy position no. 46 on this week’s men’s doubles world ranking list.
