Quarter final day is over and players are heading up for the semi-finals. Today was a day with variation in results. While some players did what they were expected to do, others caused a big surprise in front of the Swiss audience.

One of these surprises were Jones Ralfy Jansen and Carla Nelte (Germany) as they are playing their first tournament together. Therefore it is amazing that they already reached the semi-finals of a Super 300 tournament!

‘My partnership with Carla is going pretty well, as this is our first tournament we play together and we were able to reach the semi-final of Swiss Open! That’s more than what I imagined at the beginning.’ Jansen stated to Badminton Europe.

In quarter finals they beat the eight seeded Danish Pair Mikkel Mikkelsen/Mia Surrow.
‘We played constant enough to manage our match and we could control our rhythm until the end.’ Jansen commented after their match.

Enjoy the first semi-final

In the semi-final Jones and Nelte will face their compatriots Mark Lamsfuss and Isabel Hettrich. Lamsfuss made it already clear earlier that he really is planning to reach the finals on Sunday. Jansen on the other hand, does not think too much about the results of the next match.

‘I will enjoy our first semi-final and want to give my best with what I can do and just see what will be happening tomorrow’ Jansen comments about his next match.

After all, that is what Jansen does: Enjoying his new partnership with Nelte.
‘Day by day we get better and better and I feel happy about that’
