The first day of the Malaysian Masters had been a rough one for European players. Many of them did not survive the qualification of this Super 500 level tournament. But Delphine Lansac rose and shined!

Lansac (France) had to play one match to proceed to main draw. And it was a great challenge already: She had to play against the local Yen Mei Ho.

Lansac accepted the challenge with both hands. With great results as she beat the Malaysian in three sets: 21-17 8-21 and 21-18!

‘Glad that I won the fight’ Lansac wrote on her facebook page. In the first round of the main draw she will face Nitchaon Jindapol from Thailand.
‘This is a good game waiting for me tomorrow. I can’t wait!’

Christiansen/Pedersen already to second round

Besides qualification matches, most of the first round matches in mixed doubles were played on the first day. However, also in this event almost none of the European players survived.

However, Mathias Christiansen and Christina Pedersen (Denmark) did their duty as sixth seeded pair and beat Lu Kai/Zhou Chaomin (China) in straight sets.

In the next round they will face local heroes Chan Pen Soon/Liu Ying Goh, who were too strong for French pair Palermo/Kersaudy. This match will be played on Thursday.
