Young Popov made his debut on senior level

For the first time the French talent, Christo Popov entered a tournament as a senior player, and he was close on qualifying for his first main draw in a BEC Circuit tournament.

There is no question, that Christo Popov is one of the biggest talents in European badminton. Thursday in Tallinn, Estonia, he showed that he is also ready to play against players, who are older than him.

A spot in the main draw in a BEC Circuit tournament will have to wait. After two victories in the qualification Popov lost to Jhotiswaran Kapurathevan from Malaysia.

- I’m here to win
Despite being one of the youngest on the BEC Circuit the ambitions are big.

- I am here to win. That is always my goal, Christo Popov tells Badminton Europe. But the talent also knows, that if he wants to have a chance, he has to work hard: 

- You have to be ready, and you have to be more focused. I am used to play junior tournament, but on this level, you never know what will happen, Popov says.
