2018 brings with it a new event structure for BWF tournaments. In the latest BEC Podcast, Stefani and Gabriela Stoeva of Bulgaria discuss the meaning of the new structure in Europe.

Stefani was happy when she saw the calendar for 2018 had a lot of BWF tournaments locate in Europe:

- When I saw the calendar, I could see that many European tournaments are coming, like the Spanish grand prix gold.

- And I think that it is really good to have many tournaments in Europe because this year, or in the previous years, there were a lot more in Asia, so I think for the Europeans, it will be really good to participate in this European tour and to play more grand prix golds in Europe.

A new start
Stefani’s sister Gabriela agrees. She is excited for the new year even though the season of 2018 will be a busy one.

- We are really excited to finish this year and then start the new one. We will have a lot of tournaments again, but we are really excited that most of them are in Europe so most of the people can come and watch the tournaments and can enjoy not only to watch the Europeans on the internet. So, we are very happy that now most of the tournaments are in Europe, she said in the podcast.

- I think our sport can become really popular now in Europe and in more countries. Not only in Denmark, England and Germany. And I hope that it in our country also can become really popular, Stefani said and looked at her sister who then nodded.

Episode 6
Besides discussing the new BWF structure, the host of the podcast, Mark Phelan, also asked them other questions like who their favourite player is right now and if they were to play mixed, who their dream partner would be. Stay tuned for tomorrow when the podcast will be published.

Badminton Europe is excited to continue to publish BEC Podcast in the coming year and we hope that all the fans and followers go to Badminton Europe’s YouTube and Soundcloud to follow and like the podcasts.
