BADMINTON England is pleased to announce that all hospitality and premium seating for finals day at the Yonex All England Open Badminton Championships has now sold out, which demonstrates a great endorsement for the event due to take place from 5-10 March 2013.

Tickets for the Championships went on sale in June 2012, a lot earlier than in previous years in order to utilise the interest of people wanting to purchase tickets for the Olympics and to capture the buzz that surrounded a summer of sport.

Nicola Moloney, Head of Major Events and Competition at BADMINTON England described the sell out as “a great endorsement for major badminton events in this country” she went on to say that “it’s an exciting time for badminton with the major event portfolio in England growing, seen particularly with the recent introduction of the London Grand Prix taking place at the Copper Box on the Olympic Park in October 2013.

“The Olympics gave us the opportunity to showcase our sport like never before and it’s great that people want to watch it live following London 2012.  With badminton being the most popular racket sport in England, we now hope people will embrace watching it live in addition to enjoying to play it.”

The Yonex All England Open Badminton Championships is the equivalent to a ‘Grand Slam’ event in tennis and it’s seen as one of the top five Championships in the world.  With a global audience of over 340 million and with 35,000 spectators making their way to the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham each year it provides a great platform to expand the sport.

Other ticket types to the Yonex All England Open Badminton Championships are still available to purchase either online at www.allenglandbadminton.com or by calling the box office on 0844 444 9994.
