European players have new ranking positions after Scottish Open and Yonex Italian International

Yonex Italian International came to its end last week in Milan giving new ranking points to the European players.     

The winner of Yonex Italian International Pablo Abian moved 3 spots up currently occupying position no. 37 on this week’s men’s singles ranking list.

Mark Caljouw (The Netherlands) keeps on confidently moving forward reaching career best ranking positions. The Dutch player is now world no. 36.

Lucas Corvee (France) – the runner-up in Scottish Open Grand Prix, moves in small steps on the ranking list the last three weeks, occupying position no. 60 this week.

Changes for European women’s singles

Line Kjaersfeldt (Denmark) moved one position up to occupy position no. 40. Her compatriot Mette Poulsen is currently no. 47.

Yonex Italian International semifinalist Neslihan Yigit (Turkey) climbed 12 spots up to occupy position no. 51 on women’s singles world ranking list.

Another semifinalist Anna Thea Madsen who made a great comeback with a winner’s title in FZ Forza Irish Open, is currently world no. 250. The Dane has a long hard road until she reaches here career-best result – no. 34, however it seems like she will not wait too long to make it considering her results in her first two international tournaments after being out over a year with a knee injury.

Changes for European doubles players

Ben Lane/Jessica Pugh (England) climbed from position no. 34 to no. 28 this week following their victory over Marcus Ellis/Lauren Smith (England) in mixed doubles finals of the Italian international. Ellis and Smith are currently world no. 32.

Ben Lane/Sean Vendy (England) reached their career-best position in men’s doubles this week. With two semifinals in a row (Scottish Open and Italian International) they were gradually moving closer to top 50 and this week’s men’s doubles world ranking list has them on position no. 50.

The winners of 42nd Yonex Hungarian International and Yonex Italian International, runner – ups of Scottish Open Grand Prix, Russia’s Ekaterina Bolotova/Alina Davletova occupy position no. 44 on women’s doubles world ranking list.
