World number one duo Mathias Boe and Carsten Mogensen (pictured) defended their China Open title in Shanghai thanks to a brilliant performance in today's final. The Danes beat Sung Hyun Ko and Lee Yong-dae of Korea in straight games 21-15, 21-14. Thanks to the victory in the men's doubles category, Boe/Mogensen bursted the Chinese wall by "stealing" one important title from the host country.

For the current European Champions from Denmark it was the fouth Superseries triumph after they have been successful at the Korea Open in 2009, at the Yonex All-England Championships in 2011 and at last year's China Open.

"To win a title in China is something special, but to defend a title in China is even bigger", said Carsten Mogensen to the Danish media.

After the match point. Mogensen and Boe showed their dancing skills by performing the famous Gangnam style in their own way.

Germany's Juliane Schenk reached the semi-finals. The current world number four and Vice European Champion beat China's top shuttler Wang Yihan in the quarter-finals stage but lost to Thai star Ratchanok Intanon in three games.
