Badminton Europe Confederation are delighted to announce that the 2014 European U17 Championships will be held in Turkey. The event will take place in Ankara, the capital of Turkey and the country's second largest city after Istanbul. The event will be played from 15 to 23 March 2014 at the Aski Sports hall (pictured).

The Turkish Badminton Federation already hosted the U17 European Junior Championships in 2007 and provided perfect circumstances for the players.

When the first edition of the European U17 Championships was played in Cietniewo, Poland in 1990, the value of this event provided a convincing proof. Particularly for young players from those countries, who had not yet achieved the great breakthrough in international badminton.

Denmark have won the team event trophy in the tournaments which have been staged since 2005. But as the past had shown, more and more nations are coming closer to the top and have developed professional structures. At last year's edition in Caldas da Rainha a total of 37 Member Associations took part in the individual and team competition.
