Badminton Nederland seek National Coach

Badminton Nederland, with approximately 55.000 members, is one of the larger Sports Associations of the Netherlands. One of the main targets of Badminton Nederland is to achieve World Class results with Dutch players. The greatest moment for Dutch Badminton was a silver medal at the Olympic Games in Athens, 2004. For the new Olympic cycle to Rio 2016 is Badminton Nederland looking for a

National Coach (male/female)

Main tasks of the successful applicant is training and coaching of national top level players, especially the Dutch Olympic Badminton Team.

The coach reports his activities to the Technical Director and the Board of Badminton Nederland.

The successful applicant

• prepares the practise for the national teams
• informate, guide, motivate and judge the players ass well as possible in accompaniment- and trainingsrequirement for the players and the organisation
• makes the daily planning for the national teams
• evaluates the results of planning and practise
• makes contributions to the top level policy of the association
• makes proposals for selection of players for events
• coaches players during events
• scouts and select players for the national teams
• guides and gives instructions to colleague-coaches
• administrates the participation of players in events
• consults with and gives instructions to all staff members like the medical and physical staff
• take care for a preventive anti-injury policy
• gives advice to the players on their clothing and rackets

The successful applicant

• is educated on academic level in his country and/or on the Level 5 of the European Higher Sport Educational Structure
• has knowledge of training and coaching of players of World Class and Olympic level
• has daily experience in working with World Class players
• has knowledge of the international badminton scene
• is prepared to work on irregular base
• is prepared to do other work in the association
• is prepared to develop him- or herself

The work of the National Coach is a fulltime job, based on a workweek of 38 hours. The contract offered will be for 1 year. The salary will be based on the Dutch Collective Labour Agreement sector Sport. Place of living will be Arnhem.
