Day 4 of the 2017 European U17 Championships was filled with excitement. Some quarter-finalists turned into semi-finalists, and Denmark will end up having finalists in four out of the five events.

Christine Busch and Amalia Schulz finished off a day where all the Danish quarter-finalists are through to the finals on Wednesday. The duo beat the fifth seeded Germans Emma Moszczynski/Jule Petrikowski-, 21-17, 21-16.

- In the quarter-final we really had to fight because I wasn’t feeling so good. And we had to dig deep because we were completely smashed, Schulz told Badminton Europe about looking back on their earlier match.

- It was more of a mental fight tonight than in any of the other matches. We found a calm state even though we were stressed at times, Busch says to Badminton Europe and continues;

- We played our best match today so far and tomorrow against the Turks will be exciting. I have a good feeling. We know they are good and we know it will be a good match - we can go in there and play without any pressure.

Four out of four
Magnus Johannesen and Sophia Grundtvig will represent Denmark in the singles’ events. Grundtvig started out by beating the first seeded Hungarian Vivien Sandorhazi; 23-21, 21-12, while Johannesen took down Russian Gerogii Lebedev; 21-10, 23-21.

And with Christo Popov out of the picture, the Dane is looking forward to an open final where he will try his best to deliver another upset against Georgii Karpov;

- The pressure is on him and I can play my game and then we will see what it will be in the end.

Finally, Clara Graversen and Sebastian Grønbjerg actually ‘opened the ball’ by winning their mixed doubles semi-final in three sets against the German fourth seeds Moszczynski and Kicklitz.
