Mathias Christiansen and Christinna Pedersen (pictured) are inching closer to their first career Superseries title as a mixed pair. The Danish duo book its spot in the final this week in Hongkong.

The unseeded Christiansen/Pedersen, who also reached last week’s China Open finals, came through 22-20, 21-15 against Takuro Hoki/Sayaka Hirota of Japan in today’s semi-final.

Mathias Christiansen and Christinna Pedersen, no. 69 in the BWF world rankings, set up a mouth-watering final in the last Superseries event before the season-ending Dubai World Superseries Finals against the number five seeds Zheng Siwei/Huang Yaqiong, who have beaten them in the China Open a few days ago.

Conrad/Kolding through to the finals - Great show by Antonsen

In the men’s doubles semi-finals, 2016 European Champions Mads Conrad and Mads Kolding battled past Japanese duo of Takuto Inoue/Yuki Kaneko 20-22, 22-20, 21-15 to advance to the finals. The world No. 6 pair from Denmark will face Indonesians Marcus Gideon/Kevin Sulkamuljo, the top seeds and world number one duo.

A repeat of the 2016 Rio Olympic Games men's singles final is on the card, after Malaysia’s Lee Chong Wei and Chen Long of China reached the finals of the 400.000 Dollars tournament.

Chen Long won a marathon against Danish hopeful Anders Antonsen in the semis. In a battle of 1 hour and 26 minutes - the longest match of the day - the former world champion beat Antonsen 21-14, 19-21, 21-17 to advance to the finals.

„I worked so hard today and fought with everything I had! Unfortunately it wasn’t enough against the Olympic Champion Chen Long. I’m equally proud and disappointed about my performance today“, Antonsen wrote on his official Facebook page. „I would have loved to reach my first Superseries final by beating Chen Long in a match like that. I really enjoyed the match today and the process of working mentally and physically when things were not going well! It was a great experience!“

The women's singles final will be between P.V. Sindhu of India and world number one Tai Tzu Ying of Taiwan.
