Chief executive of Badminton Denmark, Charlotte Malmroes is happy and proud of the Premier Superseries tournament, that in the last six days have been played on Danish soil. "We have had a really nice setup. The Municipality of Odense has done a great job of promoting the tournament and Odense Badminton Club and other volunteers have really done nice. They can be proud of themselves", Charlotte Malmroes says.

It is the second consecutive year that all the biggest names of badminton have been in Denmark to play the traditional Premier tournament, and Charlotte Malmroes assures that the next time, it will become an even better tournament.

"It is important for Danish badminton that we have a big tournament like this, and I think that we once again show that we can meet the challenge and make it even better than before. And we will continue. We will do even better and nicer in 2013. We aim to raise the bar higher each time", says Malmroes.

The young leaves their mark

Alongside the star parade has played in Odense Sports Park, several hundred of young players have played Danish Junior Cup at Funen. And the young players have certainly received a lot of attention from the chief executive.

"It's nice to see that the young players, in this relatively new tournament, is happy with it. And it's great that we can give them the opportunity to get in the hall and show them the big stars. They help to create a fantastic atmosphere - they know exactly what it is about."

More than 100,000 people have been watching the Badminton Denmark streaming of the tournament, and Charlotte Malmroes welcomes that people outside the Danish borders also can benefit from the tournament.

"Yonex Denmark Open is a tournament for the world. Not only for Denmark. We have had many foreign journalists at the tournament, and their reactions have been very positive. So have the many responses we have received on our streaming. Therefore, it is also a great place for Danish companies to brand themselves, if they want to be branded in East Asia", says Malmroes, who is already looking forward to next year's Yonex Denmark Open.
