Badminton Europe organised a ‘Player Pathway‘ course in close cooperation with the World Academy of Sport (WAoS) and the Badminton World Federation (BWF) at the Centre of Excellence, from 3 – 5 November 2017.

All 52 member associations were invited to take part in the course. 24 members accepted the invitation and a total 44 participants took part in the course.

Before the start of the course, the participants were shown around in the Centre of Excellence which is located at Stenhus Gymnasium in Holbæk, Denmark.

Presentation from BWF Director
After the guided tour Ian wright (Development Director BWF) opened the course on Friday, and showed the participants through his presentation the development strategies of the BWF and the goal of this course.

Chris Solly from the WAoS started with his first session about the Sport Environment and Strategic Analysis straight after Ian´s presentation. When he was finished with his session, the participants had to do group work and present their work to the other participants.

After lunch, the session was about end point planning and, once again, the participants had to finish a task in groups. The third session was done in the same way as the other sessions.

Player Pathway plans for 2018
Slowly through the group work the participants worked on a player pathway plan. On Saturday, the procedure was the same and on Sunday the course was finished with the final presentations of the player pathway plans of the groups.

Now, the participants has the task to finish a player pathway plan for their own federation which they have to hand in at the start of 2018.

Badminton Europe would like to thank the BWF, World academy of Sport and Stenhus Gymnasium which all made this course possible.
