Badminton Europe Confederation (BEC) organized a Circuit Organizer meeting alongside the 2012 Yonex Belgian International in Leuven. 30 Delegates from Denmark, Belgium, Cyprus, Croatia, Finland, Estonia, Ireland, Wales, Switzerland, Sweden, France, Norway, Netherlands, Romania, Slovenia, Poland and Wales took the chance to take part. BEC presented its idea of a strategy of a new Circuit concept including a presentation on how to work with the media and a new corporate look of the streaming TV court set-up.
The new Circuit concept shall be based on presentation of the game/setup rather than only looking at the prize money offered. It shall be more exclusive to be rated as an International Challenge tournament on Badminton Europe’s Circuit.
Fruitful discussion on how the future Circuit tournaments can be improved mainly in terms of the arena set-up and how more spectators can be attracted to the Circuit tournaments brought new input among the participants.
“A good tournament organization is the key to make good events, so it was a pleasure for us to see so many of our Circuit tournaments being represented in Belgium. We received some good and useful feedback from the participants and it is our hope that they also found our presentations useful for their own tournament. We were pleased to hear their opinions towards our new proposed concept and hall setup, and we looking very much forward to get into more detailed cooperation with the organizers over the next seasons”, said Jimmy Andersen, Events Manager at Badminton Europe Confederation.
