The team went onto secure a 3-2 victory against Chinese Taipei, a huge victory for England.

Speaking about the day, Hemming said: “We knew that if we brought out the level we had been playing at, we could win the matches today.”

In terms of facing up against Chinese Taipei, he said: “Playing them was a challenge, going into the mixed doubles the score was 2-2 which was huge for us.”

He described themselves as the ‘underdogs’ alongside saying: “I know that if I play well, anything can happen”
