The first day of the World Junior Mixed Team Championships has ended and there are some results to note with thirteen countries in Europe ending with victories.

Rory Eaton and Annie Lado of England won comfortably in straight sets beating Georgia pair Like Lanchava and Pavel Piltoian. The first set was an easy win for Easton and Lado, winning it 21-4. The second set which followed was a small improvement from the Georgia team but it still was not good enough to get back at England as they won 21-7.

Also, in the same team, Abigail Holden and Freya Patel-Redfern in the women’s doubles  beat Maria Khachaturyan in straight sets. In the first set the Georgian’s were only able to score the one point as it was a dominating performance by Holden and Patel-Redfearn, and then the second set was more of the same from the English as they won 21-3.

Good day for Belgium
In another team, Belgium were victorious over the Czech Republic with Joke de Langhe and Bona Nieuwkerke beating Lucie Krpatová and Tomáš Švedja in straight sets. The first being more dominative over the match, beating their opponents 15-21. The second set was closer but the Czech Republic mixed doubles were unable to find a win, as Belgium won 19-21.

In a match that was much more closer and went to a third set, Tereza Švábiková  beat Clara Lassaux over three sets to win. The first set belonged to Czech Republic as they won 21-11. The second set made it level with the Belgian, Lassaux winning a close second 19-21.
