Japan Open has been favourable for some of our European top players.
The tournament win for Denmark’s Victor Axelsen in men’s singles has given him the number one position for the first time.
Also Carolina Marin’s (Spain) victory in women’s single has made her move upwards in the world ranking to the number 4 spot.
Russian pair Ivan Sozonov and Vladimir Ivanov’s semi-final spot has made them come closer to the top-10 as they are number 11 now.
Unfortunately, Japan Open has not been in the favour of Danish pair Mathias Boe/Carsten Mogenensen as they lose their number one spot to men’s doubles tournament winners Marcus Fernaldi Gideon and Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo from Indonesia.
Changes in top-10 in women’s and mixed doubles
Danish couple Kamilla Rytter Juhl and Christina Pedersen have dropped one place on the world ranking and are number four now.
The Bulgarian Stoeva sisters are back in the top 10 after 3 months. Gabriela and Stefanie are currently occupying the number 10 spot. As for the other European top-30 pairs, their ranking remained the same.
In mixed doubles, there are not many changes in the ranking, except for Chris and Gabrielle Adcock demoting one spot to the number 5 position.
