They are some of the biggest talents in Europe. Now they are living in Denmark, and they know what they want.

Friday the players took the court for the first time at BEC Centre of Excellence in Holbæk. The young players are sprinting, jumping and smashing and the intensity is high. It’s clear that every single player on court has a goal.

- My main goal is the Olympics in Tokyo in 2020. My short term goal is a spot in top 100, Gerda Voitechovskaja says. The 26-year old Lithuanian is currently number 169 on the BWF World ranking, and she believes, that the setup in Holbæk will help her climbing up the ladder.

- All of the girls on the court here are at the same level. The training is good, and I think, that we all will improve, Voitechovskaja says.

Practice at a high level
The first training for the players stood on for two hours, and the players are all thankful for their new training partners.

- Compared to where I came from, this is much different. The players here are very good, and the practice is on a very high level, says Elias Nicolaou who is joining BEC Centre of Excellence from Cyprus.

One of the other men’s singles, Milan Ludík, agrees with Nicolaou:

- There are so many good players here, and I think it can help me achieving my goals: climbing up the ranking to top 60-70, Ludík says.

- We can move these players
Kestutis Navickas is one of the new assistant coaches on COE, and he is satisfied after the first day of training.

- My goal is to help the players, and I’m happy with the level, I have seen. I think, that we can move the players, and they want to learn, says the former bronze medallist of European Games.

COE counts 16 players from all over Europe.
