Badminton Europe is happy to invite its Member Associations to attend the first BEC National Administrators’ and Level 1 Event Management-courses – both part of BEC’s new support programme, BASIS.

The two newly developed courses, held 24-26 November 2017 in Prague (Czech Republic), alongside the 2017 European U17 Championships, are both part of the newly established “Badminton Administrative Support and Information Sharing”-programme project, also known as BASIS. BASIS has been developed by the Member Structure Commission in conjunction with the BEC Office. It was initiated with the overriding objective to help the Member Associations (MAs) develop in the area of administration and event management.

The two courses are furthermore part of the Badminton World Federation’s (BWF) educational programme, designed by the World Academy of Sport (WAoS).

National Administrators’ Course
The National Administrators’ Course is aimed at individuals, who perform an administrative function in their federation. Participants can, among others, expect to learn more about constitution and governance, strategic and operational planning, organizational development and administration.

Level 1 Event Management Course
The Level 1 Event Management course is aimed at event organisers wishing to stage international events at Continental level (currently known as Level 4-tournaments). At this course, the key points of this course will be: events and competition structures; the key considerations in event management; the foundations of a Local Organising Committee; planning and delivering events; event evaluation and reporting process.

It is the intention that BASIS will be a ‘demand led’ programme i.e. the Member Structure Commission and the BEC Office will develop support levels for BASIS that the MAs report that they need or want. It is intended that the support levels will be reviewed and updated on an annual basis.

Read more about the Member Structures Commission’s projects and courses on the new activities page.

Are you or someone in your Member Association interested in applying for one of the two courses mentioned above, we kindly ask you to fill out the official  Course Application Form.

All applications must be sent to the BEC Office, submitted by the applicant’s respective Member Association.

Further to the application form, please also note that there is an online programme for the respective disciplines, either Administration or Events, which is MANDATORY to complete prior to the course.  Download the full course invitation to read the instructions to access the online module.

The deadline to send the application form to the BEC Office, and to complete the online module is Sunday, 17 September 2017.
