Badminton power house Denmark are keeping the European flag flying high at the 2012 Thomas & Uber Cup in China. The Danes are having secured at least a bronze medal in Wuhan as they beat Russia 3-0 in today's quarter-finals and marched into the semi-finals to play Korea on Friday. Both men's singles Peter Gade and Jan Ø. Jørgensen were dominating their Russian opponents before the men's doubles Jonas Rasmussen/Mads Conrad (pictured) secured the deciding third point in a close battle against Dremin and Lunev. To book a ticket in Sunday's Thomas Cup finals, Peter Gade, Mathias Boe and Co. have to beat second seed Korea.

It was Korea who ended Germany's Thomas Cup medal ambitions in today's quarter-finals 3-0. The German ladies lost to hot favourite and top seed China 0-3. Also the Danish Uber Cup squad were beaten by Thailand in a close match 2-3. Despite the defeats the European teams showed a strong character against their Asian opponents.
