As part of its development programme, Badminton Europe is currently focusing on its schools projects through the BWF Shuttle Time project, which is about bringing badminton into schools. In order to do so school teachers have to be trained by Tutors, those Tutors have to be trained by Shuttle Time Trainers, and those Trainers have to have taken a certification course where they become aware about the Shuttle Time resources and the implementation process. Once these trainers are done, they can become themselves coordinators in their country and deliver similar courses to other Shuttle Time Trainers.

Badminton Europe in conjunction with BWF organized during the European Championships in Karlskrona, Sweden, a 2-day course on 19 and 20 April for Shuttle Time trainers. Lead by Ian Wright (BWF Development Manager) and Joann Hughes (International coach), 16 Member Associations sent a total of 20 participants.

The course was split into theoretical content and court sessions where the future trainers put into actions what they had learned in the classroom. From becoming familiar with the resources that will be used by the teachers, to the behaviour to adopt with children, they learn about games to make the younger play in order to make them discover badminton in a fun way.

At the end of the course, the participants left ready to start implementing Shuttle Time in their country and rich of a common experience with all the attendees.
