French Federation reach 160.000 members

The number of licenced players of the Federation Francaise de Badminton is increasing year by year. As the French Federation are communicating in a press release, this month the number of 160.000 players has been achieved.

The growing popularity of badminton in France can be seen by comparing the number of licensed players since the year 1990. It has been increased from 18.000 to 70.000 in 2000 and to 156.500 in 2011. And by March 2012 the number of 160.000 members was reached.

Currently there are 1804 badminton clubs in France and the sport is played in more than 800 schools with the official title "Ecoles Françaises de Badminton".
