Thomas Laybourn and Kamilla Juhl of Denmark are through to the mixed doubles final at the Yonex All England Championships. The 2005 runners-up to Nathan Robertson and Gail Emms reached tomorrow's final when they defeated second seeds and defending champions Xu Chen and Ma Jin 21-16 21-18.

"We did what we prepared in our tactics and we really made them insecure and they could not get their game together. So now we are just really happy and proud about our spot in the finals. We play Natsir/Tontowi from Indonesia in the final. We will do everything we can to win tomorrow and I believe if we play like we did today and the past two weeks we can take the title. But it will not be easy. The Indonesians played well, but lets see tomorrow - who'll have the nerves to go all in for the title", said Laybourn on his official Facebook site.

Denmark's 2010 world champions are the sole European survivors after fellow Danes and defending champions Mathias Boe and Carsten Mogensen lost to Korean second seeds Jung Jae Sung and Lee Yong Dae 21-14 21-13.

Defending champion Lee Chong Wei is through to the men's singles final as he bids to become the first Malaysian to win three men's singles titles in a row since Wong Pen Soon in 1952. He defeated Korean Lee Hyun Ill 21-19 21-18 and is now waiting to face Lin Dan in the final if the Chinese four-times champion and reigning world champion defeats Japan's Kenichi Tago later.

He is also the first Malaysian to appear in three successive finals since Eddy Choong appeared in six successive men's singles finals from 1953, winning four of them. Eddy is in Birmingham to support his fellow Malaysian.

Today's semi-finals programme began with presentatons to former England stars with BADMINTON England playing a special tribute to Anthony Clark following his retirement from international competition.

There were also commemorative caps for former England stars Darren Hall and Helen Troke to mark their having played more than 100 times for England. Stephen Baddeley was also due to receive a commemorative cap as the most capped Englishman.
