The July edition of the ´Women in the Spotlight´ features Sarah Bok, former England national player and now badminton coach in Scotland. Badminton Europe (BEC) spoke to Sarah at the recently concluded 2016 BEC Summer School #BECSS16 held in Podcetrtek, Slovenia from 9-16 July 2016.

Let´s hear it from Sarah Bok

Sarah shared her current role at Badminton Scotland, her experiences at the 2016 BEC Summer School and why she chose to recontribute to badminton after a two year break from badminton.


Sarah (third from left) is one of the Women in Badminton Scholarship recipients at the summer school. During the summer school, she took part at the BWF Level 1 Coach Education course and had the opportunity to work with players aged seventeen and below.

BEC offers Women in Badminton Scholarships yearly to promote the participation of women in badminton around Europe and to provide opportunities for interested ladies to participate at different BEC events and activities.
