Imogen Bankier and Chris Adcock's hopes of an extended run at the Victor Korean Open were cut short in Seoul today when they fell in the second round of the mixed doubles just 24 hours after beating the world champions.

The Anglo-Scottish pair, who yesterday defeated Zhang Nan and Zhao Yunlei for the first time, fell to the No. 2 Chinese pair of He Hanbin and Yixin Bao 21-14 21-17. Bankier and Adcock were never ahead in the opening game as the Chinese controlled play.

But the world silver medallists, who lost to Zhang and Zhao in the world final at Wembley in August, looked to be turning the tables in the second game when they opened up a 12-4 lead.

They were still ahead at 16-13 before He and Bao reeled off six points in a row to turn the tables and went on to book their quarter-final place.

Adcock and Bankier must now regain their focus in time for next week's Maybank Malaysia Open in Kuala Lumpur, where they face England rivals Nathan Robertson and Jenny Wallwork in the first round.

The German pair of Michael Fuchs and Oliver Roth sensationally outperformed former World champions Setiawan/Kido of Indonesia and could celebrate their first ever quarter final of a Superseries event.
