It is the happiest moment of my life“, wrote Kim Astrup (24) on his Facebook profile. The young Danish shuttler and his partner Anders Skaarup Rasmussen (27) had just won the Swiss Open title in Basel. The Danes defeated Lee Sheng Mu/Tsai Chia Hsin of Taiwan 21-8, 21-15 in the match that lasted for only 30 minutes, to claim their first title of the year.

With the trophy of the Grand Prix Gold event (120.000 Dollars), the Danes, current world number 25, gained a needed confidence boost after a little slump in form, beating their Asian opponents in such an incredible fashion.

Astrup and Skaarup Rasmussen had been beaten previously last season by the Taiwan shutter, in the Malaysian Open Superseries.

Marc Zwiebler suffered a loss in the finals

Up and coming Indian shuttler of HS Prannoy, the world number 27, clinched his second Grand Prix Gold tournament title by notching up a straight game victory over former European Champion (2012), Marc Zwiebler (32) of Germany.

The 23-year-old Prannoy, who had won the Indonesia Open Grand Prix Goldin 2014, had been in fine touch with wins over higher ranked players, including Rajiv Ouseph of England, in this tournament.

The two rivals were tied at 18-18 and it was from there that the Indian took three straight points at a crucial juncture to take the opening game 21-18.

It wasn't meant to be. I lost in straight games but I tried everything I could and had my chances“, said Marc Zwiebler. „Prannoy was the better player in the crucial parts of the match, so even if I'm disappointed I have to accept that. Anyway, it's been a good performance the last two weeks. Not much time to recover as I will now be heading to India, Malaysia and Singapore soon.“

The finals results:

MS: H. S. Prannoy (IND) - Marc Zwiebler (GER) 21-18, 21-15
