The anticipation of the total number of participants for the 1st BEC Para-Badminton Education Course is finally over. Badminton Europe (BEC) will be welcoming 45 participants from 23 Member Associations to the city of Veenendaal in the Netherlands where the course will be held from 11-13 December.

The course which starts on Friday afternoon will be delivered by three presenters, assisted by two BEC staff and two local organizers. The 45 participants consist of 37 coaches and 8 admininstrators. Lyndon Williams who will lead the course is very excited about delivering the course and is all pscyhed up to share and discuss para-badminton with all the participants. 

    

Apart from the course content, the local organizer have also planned a networking evening on Saturday for the participants. This session is hosted by Badminton Nederland together with its flagship club, Badminton Duovereniging Veenendaal. Participants taking part in this course will be showered with lots of information about para-badminton and to top that, they also get to socialize with their para-badminton colleagues.

´It is a great privilege for me to be given the role of planning and delivering the 1st BEC Para-Badminton Education Course in Holland this December. A very exciting project to be involved with and I am really pleased by the number of coaches and administrators on the course and also very pleased to be able to deliver with two young and exciting para-badminton coaches - Kaity Hall from Scotland and Richard Morris from England. Both coaches have been supporting me with my work on the BWF Commission in delivering workshops across the world to new areas and countries.

I believe we have a real opportunity at the course to share everyone's knowledge and experiences over the years and also how we see our sport developing towards Tokyo and beyond. As well as the mix of coaches, I am also delighted that a number of high level players will be attending, and they too will have a part to play in allowing us to hear their views on the way forward.

One thing I really hope we can highlight is the need for the development of para-badminton structures, working inclusively with current National Governing body programmes, we will look at this in great detail and one task will be to make sure everyone leaves the course with some real positive ideas on how we can make Europe even stronger as a para-badminton confederation.´ he added.
