The appetite for the Badminton Manager App has proven to be there with 1.000 users registering a team already within the first week. The Badminton Manager App has been launched just in time for the European Games in Baku starting on 22 June 2015. Hopeful badminton managers have to be fast in registering their team within the 21 June 2015 deadline.

The Badminton Manager App is it first of its kind for tablets and is available both for Apple and Android free of charge. The game follows real time players in real time tournaments where players increase in value according to their results.

General Secretary of Badminton Europe, Brian Agerbak said; “Our intention with this initiative is to increase the attention around the badminton tournaments and the players. As a sport we need to be more active on tablets as this is where we can reach the younger generation. We hope that we can start a trend with this app and that many more badminton games will follow.”

The Badminton Manger game kicks off with the 2015 European Games in Baku and the last tournament to count for the game will the 2016 European Badminton Championships in Vendée, France. The focus of the app is mainly on European players and European tournaments but some of the best Asian players as Lin Dan, Lee Chong Wei and Saina Nehwal are also featured in the app. The tournaments covered are besides all European based sanctioned events also the BWF World Championships, the BWF Super Series Tournaments and Grand Prix Gold’s played outside Europe. This is mainly to follow the European player’s successes in these events.

When asked if there have been any obstacles or issues in developing the app Brian Agerbak answered; “We have not had any dramatic issues as such but it has been a time consuming exercise to develop the app and test if before launching. Furthermore we have had some questions regarding player image rights, but as this is clearly defined in the BWF Competition Regulations we have just had to make reference to these. Else I would like to state that the Badminton Manager App is developed solely for promotion purposes.”

To play simply search for "Badminton Manager" on App Store or Google Play

Join the game free of charge – before 21 June 2015.
