The China Para-Badminton International will take place in the Olympic city of Beijing from the 27th to 31st of May. Organized by the National Paralympic Committee of China, the tournament will be held in the Shunyi District of Beijing at the China Administration of Sports for Persons with Disabilities venue.

77 players will be taking part in this tournament, competing in 19 events. Europe is represented by England, France, Norway, Poland and Switzerland with 13 players.  France is bringing the largest team with 9 players.

Helle Sofie Sagoy (NOR) and Sonja Haesler (SUI) are both seeded first in their respective Sport Classes. Poland is represented by Bartlomiej Mroz, who won two bronzes from the V Spanish Para-Badminton International in March while England is represented by Bobby Griffin.

´This is the first time that China has hosted a para-badminton international, so that is great news. The tournament has been well received with a good number of countries sending players to compete. The BWF looks forward to successfully working with China on future para-badminton events.´said Andy Hines Randle, the BWF Para-Badminton & Integrity Manager.

The China Para-Badminton International is the second tournament in the Badminton World Federation (BWF) para-badminton calendar after the V Spanish Para-Badminton International which took place in March. The third and fourth tournament will be the Carlton Irish Para-Badminton International taking place in June and the Indonesia Para-Badminton International, happening in August. To finish the year, the Peru Para-Badminton International will be held from the 14th -18th of October.

Para-badminton players from around the world are making the best out of these tournaments to improve their world rankings before the World Para-Badminton Championships. The World Para-Badminton Championships will be held in Stoke Mandeville, England from the 8th to 13th of September.
