Councillors have been re-elected

35 countries were represented at the 2015 Annual Delegates’ Meeting held in Paris, France on the 18th of April. Vice President Joao Matos including three Directors were re-elected on the governing board of the Confederation.

Special guests, who were invited to attend the meeting, included BEC Hall-Of-Famer Erland Kops (Denmark), former President and new elected BEC Honorary Vice President Tom Bacher (Denmark), former President Torsten Berg (Denmark), Honorary Vice President Horst Kullnigg (Austria), former Council members Alberto Miglietta (Italy), Hans Lenkert (Sweden), Andrej Pohar (Slovenia) and Corina Dan (Romania). Gisela Hoffmann, the long-serving former General Secretary from Germany, former Council members Irene Delvai from Switzerland and Jadwiga Ślawska-Szalewicz (Poland) were also invited as guests of honour.
 
The Annual Delegates' Meeting brings together Badminton Europe’s Member Associations to discuss relevant subjects affecting badminton within the continent.

The ADM took place at the wonderful Novotel Tourd’Eiffel’s Amphie Theatre in the French capital of Paris.

Joao Matos re-elected Vice President of Badminton Europe

Joao Matos (Portugal) was re-elected Vice President of the Confederation while Ritchie Campbell (Scotland), Director for Finances, Jean-Marc Serfaty (France), Director for Development and Lawrence Chew (Switzerland), Director for Administration, were re- elected in their Council positions. Gregory Verpoorten (Belgium) was re-elected BWF Vice President for Europe for the 2015 – 2019 term.

The Annual Delegates’ Meeting approved the Strategic Plan for 2015 to 2019 proposed by the Council. This Strategic Plan includes a new organization and structure of the Confederation.

The meeting approved changes to the Confederation’s rules and regulations and accepted the budget for 2015 and financial forecasts for 2016 and 2017.  Furthermore the meeting elected former BEC President Tom Bacher as Honorary Vice President.

The Council of Badminton Europe is now composed of the following ten people:

Vice-President: Andrey Antropov (Russia)
Vice-President: Murat Özmekik (Turkey)

Director for Administration: Lawrence Chew (Switzerland)
Director for Communication: Richard Vaughan (Ireland)
Director for Development: Jean-Marc Serfaty (France)
Director for Finance: Ritchie Campbell (Scotland)
Director for Marketing: Kevin Scott (England)
Director for Sport: Peter Tarcala (Slovakia)
