Spain are the new kings of European junior badminton after an inspiring 3-2 win over England in today's 2015 European Junior Team Championships final. After two very exciting matches in yesterday's European Championships semi-finals action, today's event saw another thriller between England and Spain which was decided in the very last match.

In fact, it was again the women's duo of Clara Azurmendi and Isabel Fernandez who won the crucial point for Spain. The young duo beat the previously undefeated Ira Banerjee and Pugh 21-18, 23-21 to secure the first European junior trophy for Spain.

Spain, who had beaten 12-time winners Denmark in the last rubber of their semi-final, had never reached a medal match at the European team event before their win over England. The country in southwestern Europe created another piece of badminton history today.

The individual Championships start later today, with the finals taking place on Saturday.

Congratulations to all medal winning countries!
