From 16 to 20 January, 15 women’s singles badminton players, between 16 and 20 years old, are participating in a training camp at the Badminton Europe Centre of Excellence (CoE).

The women’s training camp is taking place in Holbæk and aims to develop and provide the players with different training and exercises, as well as continue their preparation for tournaments. “I think it is lovely and a very good opportunity for us to have many players from all around Europe at the CoE. The variety of their playing styles makes us improve. On top of that, everyone is bringing irreplaceable positive energy on court and off court”, shares Anna Mikhalkova, a player at the CoE.

The 15 players are from eight different countries and are being trained together with the Centre of Excellence players by three coaches. Dennis Christensen, Maxime Moreels, and Jeroen Van Dijk are coaching the women’s singles players for these five days.

“It is fantastic that we can gather so many singles players together and let them practice and play. Most of these players are used to training with the same group of people. In this women’s singles camp, they can get different sparring and I am very happy that Badminton Europe can help them with this. The variety of players here at the CoE is the added value of the WS training camp”, states Jeroen Van Dijk, the CoE Head Coach.

The next training camp will be dedicated to men’s singles players and will take place from 20 to 24 February 2023.
