After some tough clashes in the 2022 European Club Championships, we now know who will be fighting for a spot in the final.

On the fourth day of the 2022 European Club Championships, we enter the final stage with a schedule packed with action. The quarterfinals are now over but players still have their heads in the game, with the semifinals taking place in an hour.

A Polish clash
The home crowd is in for a thrilling clash in today’s semifinals as UKS Hubal Bialystok will be facing Suwalski KB Litpol – Malow. The first club to seal the deal and advance onto the semifinals was UKS Hubal Bialystok. The locals remain unbeaten so far in the event and have shown yet another strong performance in their clash against Kristiansand BK this morning.

- We wanted to secure that medal, but we are not just fighting for a spot in the semifinals, we want to go as further as we can. We are ready for the afternoon, Mariya Mitsova stated.

Suwalski KB Litpol – Malow needed one more match to book their semifinal spot. Danylo Bosniuk could not stop Carlos Piris in a tough three-game match, but the Polish club didn’t concede any more victories to Rinconada.

- We are waiting for what would be like ‘el clásico’ in Polish badminton, UKS Hubal Bialysok against Suwalski KB Litpol. I am happy that we can face each other, Krzysztof Jakowczuk from UKS Hubal Bialystok said.

Last year’s runner-ups aiming high again
BC Chambly Oise is another strong club that quickly secured the win to get into the semifinals. Having finished as runner-ups in the last edition of the event back in 2019, the French club could be taking this chance to get the title.

After solid wins against IES Recreativo La Orden, as Eloi Adam/ Flavie Vallet and Eetu Heino made it 2-0 for the French club, it was Léonice Huet’s turn to earn the win needed that could get them into the semifinals. Telma Santos was not going to make it so easy for the opposing club to get away with the win, but despite the match going to three games, Huet got the third victory.

Piume d’Argento BC and BK 1973 Benátky Nad Jizerou were the last standing on the hall. The encounter between the two clubs was close but had to be fought in just four matches — as the scoreboard marked 1-1, Agnes Körösi had to withdraw due to injury.

Milan Dratva/ Steven Stallwood then made it 2-1 for the Czech club and it was up to Anna Mikhalkova/ Hannah Pohl and Helina Rüütel/ Kateřina Zuzáková to earn the decisive triumph. It was another close match that went to three games, and Mikhalkova/ Pohl succeeded in taking the win and their team to the semifinals.
