The newly certified tutors are now back in their countries ready to contribute to developing badminton after the Tutor Education Level 1 Course that took place from 24 to 26 June in Poznán, Poland.

Two and a half days of learning came to an end last Sunday in Pozán, Poland. The eight participants from six different countries have now finished the Tutor Education Level 1 Course, an enriching experience with a myriad of tasks and simulations in which they already had to take on the role of the tutor both on and off court.

– Coaches are crucial in the development of badminton, and you need to educate them. That’s why It is so important to have tutors, to educate coaches, Course Tutor Martijn van Dooremalen said.

Establishing clear goals
There are many skills to be acquired and topics to be covered in a short span of time — time management, flexibility, capability of adapting to a wide variety of the tasks, among several others — but the participants’ proactivity and the positive environment in Pozán contributed to the course running smoothly.

– I just want to give back to my country and help to develop badminton in Ireland. That’s a good goal for me, former professional player and course participant Chloe Magee stated.

With all the new knowledge and motivation to go back to their own countries and work on their new role as tutors, the course isn’t just an inspiration to the participants, but also to those delivering it.

– After this challenging course, I would like to deliver the next course in Poland. I want to develop our badminton coaches, shadow tutor of the course Wojciech Szkudlarczyk said.

The next stop for those interested in this education, there will be a Tutor Education Level 2 Course happening in just a few months, 9 to 11 September in Oviedo, Spain. Keep updated of this and more of our Development activities on our Development portal.
