Only one week until the European Men’s & Women's Team Championships (EMWTC) begins! This year it takes place in France. The city of Liévin (Northern France) will host the competition from the 11 to 16 of February 2020. It will be one of the biggest badminton events in Europe this year.
A record number of teams were entered, with 34 men’s teams and 29 women’s teams.
In the six days, the teams will fight to be officially crowned the best male and female national teams in Europe. At the same time the event works as the European qualification event towards the Thomas & Uber Cup Finals.
Last time the EMWTC was held, was in Kazan, Russia. Below you can see the medallists from 2018.

We are going to push for winning the group
Felix Burestedt is one of the players from the Swedish team. Looking forward to the event he says:
- I am very much looking forward to next week. It is going to be a lot of fun to compete for Sweden in a team event.
- We are going to go out and push for winning the group!
The Swedish team are in a group with England, Estonia and Greenland.
At the same time as the EMWTC, the European U15 Championships will be held from 14 to 16 of February also in Liévin, France.
