Kate Foo Kune secured a medal in Zambia

Kate Foo Kune, secured a bronze medal at the Zambia International in the women's singles. 


The Mauritian player practices at the Centre of Excellence (CoE). 


Last week she was playing the Zambia International, which was her first tournament after her comeback. 


- It hasn’t been easy to get back into badminton after this tough period. For many months I lost who I was, but I am slowly getting it back.

Securing a medal

Kate Foo Kune delivered a solid performance by winning the quarterfinal 21-4 21-4 against Cayleen Miller, sending her through to the semifinals. 


In the semifinal she lost to a stronger opponent, Doha Hany, in three close games, 21-15 13-21 16-21. Foo Kune secured a bronze medal, that she could bring back home to CoE. 


- I am really grateful to be able to play again! Not the result I was expecting but for sure it is a great start. I hope to keep improving and most of all to regain confidence in myself so that I can perform better and better.
