Ben Lane and Jessica Pugh are through to the quarterfinals at French Open.

In the second round of French Open Ben Lane and Jessica Pugh was facing the eight seeded Hafiz Faizal and Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja from Indonesia. The English won the first game 21-12 but the Indonesians pushed back won second set 21-17 sending the match into a decider.

In the final game the English had the upper hand and won the game 21-15.

- We are really happy. It is all the outcome of all the hard work we have been putting in. Sometimes it feels like it is not working and then you have days like today where you just perform, and everything comes together. It makes it all worth it, Pugh said.

- We were good on the first three shots today. We knew they were going to do certain things on the first shots, and we executed the plan well today, Lane added.

On the right track
Ben Lane and Jessica Pugh are the third best mixed double in England after the Adcocks and Marcus Ellis and Lauren Smith. The Adcocks are playing their second round match later, while Ellis and Smith lost in the first round.

- There is only going to be a product of it. We are training with them all the time. The more you practice and analyse your game and figure out where to improve. Eventually you will get there and have results like today, Pugh stated.

Lane and Pugh will face third seeded Yuta Watanabe and Arisa Higashino from Japan in the quarterfinals.
