Women’s singles player Ksenia Polikarpova has been collecting good results from all over the globe this year. Notable achievements include being runner-up in the Jamaica International, a semifinal at the Brazil International Challenge and a quarterfinal at the Lagos International and Maldives International.
Polikarpova also had a memorable European Games round of sixteen match against Denmark’s Mia Blichfeldt which went the distance, making the eventual gold medallist work very hard for the win.
As a result, Polikarpova is in a good place right now, and this week in Israel for the Hatzor International she has the support of her family. On Instagram she shared:
-When my parents come visit us, it is a chance to see new places in Israel and combine all our "Israeli family" together!
Partner and opponent
Polikarpova will of course be defending both the women’s singles and doubles titles. In the doubles she will this year play together with her new partner, Heli Neiman. Their first match will be against the number two seeds, also from Israel, Anastasia Bantish and Noa Buller.
Interestingly, Polikarpova, who is the number one seed in the singles, will have to actually face her doubles partner Neiman in her opening match. This is a rare occurrence but hopefully will kick start a special week for them.
