The Croatian International concluded today and there were two Doubles titles for Denmark and Emil Lauritzen.

Lauritzen won both the Mixed and Men’s Doubles titles with partner’s Iben Bergstein and Mads Muurholm respectively.

Lauritzen and Bergstein opened up the day’s play on Easter Sunday with a 50-minute-long three game match-up with the top seeds, Alberto Zapico and Lorena Usle (Spain).

The Dane’s had to fight hard for their win after finding themselves a game down, when the Spaniards edged the opener 21-19. The number four seeds bounced back however and managed to take the following games fairly comfortably, 21-12 and then 21-16 respectively.

The Men’s Doubles Final was awarded to Lauritzen and Muurholm after their compatriots Philip Illum Klindt and Jakob Stage were forced to forfeit the final resulting in a walkover and victory for Lauritzen and Muurholm.

Sarosi takes home the title

Laura Sarosi also took home top honours in the Women’s Singles after her win over Tanvi Lad (India).

The Hungarian came through the final in Zagreb in impressive style with a 21-18, 21-13 win over her opponent.

Sarosi, the number three seed for the event, managed the game well against an opponent in Lad that despite being unseeded for the event had managed to knock out a number of higher ranked players on her way to the final.

Dutch pair win out all European Final

Finally, in the Women’s Doubles it was the Dutch pair of Debora Jille and Alyssa Tirtosentono that came out on top against Ukrainian Khrystyna Dzhanhobekova and Slovakian Katarina Vargova.

The two unseeded European pairs had both upset the odds in making the final but it was the Dutch pair that asserted themselves right from the off.

Jille and Tirtosentono led from start to finish and ended up as comfortable winners, with a 21-13, 21-9 victory.
