As we are now two weeks away from the Badminton Europe Confederation Congress in Kiev, Ukraine, preparations have already gotten underway for the company event.

In less than two weeks, the Badminton Europe board of directors, office staff and other member association figures will meet in Kiev for what is set to be another great week at the BEC Congress.

Set to be another great event

Last year’s Congress, which was in Dubrovnik, Croatia, was a great success and Badminton Europe’s General Secretary is hoping for much of the same for this year, in Kiev.

- I think it is going to be an excellent event, they have fantastic facilities and they are very enthusiastic, Brian Agerbak said.

- We have a good plan for the participants for the forum which will be a very engaging activity once again, he added.

The Congress will bring together most of the Member Associations in one place, giving opportunities to network and share thoughts.

- It is a good chance for everyone to meet each other who they have not seen for maybe one year, so I am happy that most Member Associations will be attending, Agerbak commented.

- The ADM is going to be very interesting; we have two positions to be voted for. Firstly, the Badminton Europe President and the BWF Vice President for Europe.

Gala is the highlight

The BEC Gala Awards will also take place at the weekend of the Congress week in Kiev, with a number of awards up for grabs across the sport in Europe.

- The highlight for me is always the Gala Awards evening where everyone will come together and celebrate the great year that Europe has had, in 2018.

- I think the Hall of Fame is one of the biggest highlights at the Gala, every year, I think we have chosen a good candidate to introduce onto the Hall of Fame, The BEC General Secretary said.

- It is always based on achievements and merit and without saying too much, I think the candidate who we have chosen here is the right choice, with a lot of Championships under the belt.

- I am also very happy that the award winner will attend the Gala Awards evening, which will give us the opportunity to personally congratulate and that he/she can receive the award, he said.
